Practice Focus

Jeff Morris is a patent attorney with experience in writing patents and working on behalf of clients with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. In addition to drafting patent applications and office action responses, he has experience with patent term adjustment matters, appeals, reexaminations, and portfolio analysis. He has industry experience with satellite communication systems, and has written patents on topics such as, software and business methods, solid state devices and circuits, image analysis software, database query software, global positioning system devices, hard disk drive components, electronic toys, virtual machines, and touch sensor devices.

With an advanced business degree and nearly a decade of aerospace-related technical and management assignments in the U.S. Air Force, Jeff brings a practical, real-world focus to his patent prosecution work.

Notable Experience

From 1993 to 2001, Jeff was an active duty member of the United States Air Force, serving in Air Force Space Command. Since 2001 he has served in the U.S. Air Force Reserve as a Staff Judge Advocate (JAG). His assignments in Air Force Space Command included duties as an ICBM (Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile) crew commander, a space systems logistics manager, a space systems acquisitions manager, and a developmental engineer.
